FAQs-V500 Pro

Can VDIAGTOOL V500 Pro test all types of circuits in a vehicle?

Yes! It is designed to diagnose a wide range of circuit issues, including short circuits, open circuits, and faulty components, ensuring comprehensive coverage for automotive electrical systems.

Can the V500 Pro be used to test fuel injectors and relays?

The Smart Test feature automatically detects voltage, resistance, and continuity, allowing for quick and accurate troubleshooting without manual adjustments.

The battery in the Breaker Finder is brand new, so why is there no sound when I get close to the wire?

Please make sure the button on the host device is set to Mode II. In addition, please clip the red and black clips on the host device to the circuit to be tested. If the Breaker Finder still has no sound, it may be that the device is broken Please shoot a video and send it to service@vdiagtool.com. After analysis, our support team will provide an appropriate solution.

What electrical components this device can provide power to?

VDIAGTOOL V500 Pro can provide power to electrical components like car lights, windshield wipers, radiator fans, relay, fuel injector and etc.

What range of DC voltage I can test by using this product?

The Mode I(circuit tester) can test voltages between 9 and 30 volt DC and the Mode 2(breaker finder) can test voltages between 6 and 42 volt DC.

How does the V500 Pro measure short circuits?

Here is the correct procedure for testing a short circuit:

  1. Turn on your V500 Pro and select Mode 1.
  2. Enter the Resistor menu.
  3. Connect the black wire to ground.
  4. Use the probe tip to touch the circuit wires:
Touching the negative wire should produce a sound — this is normal.
If touching the positive wire also produces a sound, it means there is a short in that section.
  5. Move the probe tip along the wire, progressively shortening the testing section, until the sound disappears.
  6. The section from where the sound is present to where it stops indicates the location of the short.

We kindly ask you to try this method and, if you notice any issues during testing, please record a short video showing the testing process and share it with us. This will help us better understand the problem and provide you with accurate support.
