This is not a correct understanding. The VCI Wi-Fi is different from the home Wi-Fi. While connected to the VCI, you can also connect to the home Wi-Fi to perform software upgrades, etc.
Regarding why this might have happened — based on our engineer’s analysis, the issue was likely caused by a temporary protection condition rather than a hardware problem.
Some common reasons include:
- The device may have been too cold or too hot at the time
- The charging port may have had temporary dust or contact issues
- The battery level may have dropped too low for too long (deep discharge), which requires the system to “wake up”
- The battery management system entered a temporary protection or frozen state
The forced shutdown refreshed the power-management software, so this is why it started charging normally afterward.
The good news is — this means the battery, charger and device hardware are all fine.
PIease charge for more than one hour first, unplug the charger, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds and to check if it will turn on, and also confirm whether the device screen will light up when charging and try to press and hold the power button for more than 10s to try several times while charging. If the device still won't turn on, please contact our support team with S/N.
Yes, you can absolutely purchase a blank key fob from eBay or another seller.
Just one important thing to note: the key must be the same type as the original key for your vehicle. If the key type does not match, it will not be possible to program it.
Both original (OEM) keys and compatible aftermarket keys are acceptable, as long as they match the original key specification.
Regarding the issue you mentioned, we’d like to kindly clarify that the VDIAGTOOL mobile app on your phone is designed for upcoming new products, and it is not the same system as the application used on tablet-based devices like the VD70S.
As a result, accounts created on the mobile app cannot be used on the VD70S device, and the email may appear as “not valid” on the unit. To activate your VD70S, please register a new account directly on the VD70S device itself and complete the activation from there.
Regarding the AutoAuth issue you mentioned, when registering an AutoAuth account, please try selecting Europe as your region and see if the registration works properly. Our VD70S device does not have any regional restrictions, so it should function normally.
